New Preston, CT
25 Hopkins Road
New Preston, CT
On exhibit are early photographs from the Hopkins Family Album. The Hopkins farm is one of very few Centennial Farms left in Connecticut. The Hopkins family has continuously farmed this land since 1787, when Elijah Hopkins, returning from the Revolutionary War, chose this rich and fertile site in Warren. The family acreage here on Lake Waramaug has witnessed many diverse forms of agriculture including raising sheep, race horse, grain crops, tobacco and dairy farming. Most recent and for 30 years, Hopkins is now cultivating 30 acres of grapes and producing award winning wines.
